With these tests it is possible to check the strength, both <strong>tensile <\/strong>and <strong>compressive <\/strong>, that the material is able to withstand.<\/p>\n<p>By means of different <strong>punch diameters<\/strong> and <strong>support roll spacing<\/strong>, the bending suitability of materials and welded joints is determined.<\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>2.<\/strong><\/em> HARDNESS TESTS<\/h3>\n<p>At <strong>SCI<\/strong> we perform tests to determine the hardness of a material. And we do so with three of the methods used: <strong>Rockwell<\/strong>, <strong>Brinell<\/strong> and <strong>Vickers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>3.<\/strong><\/em> SHOCK BENDING TESTS (RESILIENCE)<\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Charpy test<\/strong> measures the tenacity and energy absorption capacity of a given material at different temperatures, from room temperature to <strong>-196\u00baC<\/strong>.
